Matt Hodgson

Born in Newfoundland, Matt has lived in a number of communities, including Toronto, Hamilton, Windsor, London, and Ottawa, before returning to Kingston where he has strong family ties.

Matt obtained a four year Honours History degree at the University of Western Ontario and then attended Law School at Queen’s. Following his call to the Bar, Matt practiced for several years in Kitchener-Waterloo before co-founding Hodgson Sinnett in 2000.

A Navigation Officer in the Canadian Naval Reserve, Matt has served aboard ships in both the Canadian and Royal Navy and sailed to Alaska, France, England, and just about every port possible on each coast. Needless to say, when he’s not in the office or in court, in the summer you can usually find Matt on the water.

Matt practises Criminal Law and is a past President of the Kingston Criminal Defence Lawyers Association.
